Dr. Andrew Peters, a board certified pediatrician, has been with North Arlington Pediatrics since 2003. He was raised in New Jersey and moved to Chicago over 20 years ago. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1987, at Northwestern University. He attained a Master of Science in 1989 studying molecular biology and molecular genetics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After several years of conducting basic research at the University of Chicago in the fields of molecular genetics and molecular biology, he attended medical school at the University of Chicago in 1996 and then completed a residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Peters serves as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Northwest Community Hospital. He also has served on multiple committees at NCH:Chairperson of the Pediatric Medicine Ward Committee , Physician Advisory Committee on Electronic Health Records, Medical Records Committee, and the Perinatal Medicine Subcommittee. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Peters is married and the father of two girls. Outside of the office, Dr. Peters enjoys spending time with his golden retrievers, outdoor activities, hiking, cycling (completed the 400 mile AIDS ride), running, home renovation, nature, and gardening.
