Dr. Walsh, a native of Evanston, Illinois, joined North Arlington Pediatrics in 1990. She received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-professional Studies, with honors, from the University of Notre Dame and earned her medical degree at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Following medical school, she completed her Pediatric Residency at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She is a board certified pediatrician and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Walsh and NAP colleagues developed the "Healthy Living Clinic" to educate children about nutrition and to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle. She enjoys guiding and encouraging mothers about the various aspects of breastfeeding, including transitioning back to work. She advises parents on caring for every phase of childhood, from newborn to young adulthood. Dr. Walsh takes care to help parents in their children's everyday behavioral concerns, including sleep issues, potty-training, school concerns, and peer relationships. She is a past Chairperson of the Department of Pediatrics at Northwest Community Hospital and has served on numerous leadership committees at NCH.
She lives in Arlington Heights with her husband and five children. In addition to her part-time work and home, Dr. Walsh volunteers as room parent for her children's classes and serves as a health advisor to an Arlington Heights school. She has also been a guest speaker at local community groups addressing health issues. In her spare time, Dr. Walsh enjoys downhill skiing with her family.
